The professional staff at our Raleigh performance center consists of Licensed Physical Therapists, Licensed Athletic Trainers and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists. Combining the expertise of Raleigh Orthopaedic and EXOS treatment and training philosophies, we have more than 100 years of combined experience treating and training athletes of all ages.
As a division of Raleigh Orthopaedic, we can help expedite access to appointments with the 20 orthopedic surgeons, 2 non-surgical Sports Medicine physicians, physiatrist and podiatrist at the Raleigh, North Wake, Cary and Garner offices for ROC. Ancillary services are also available through ROC including urgent care, X-ray, MRI, Orthotics/Pedorthics, and durable medical equipment.

Brian Schiff PT, OCS, CSCS
Brian Schiff graduated from Ohio State University in 1996 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Allied Health Professions, Physical Therapy. He became a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength & Conditioning Association in 1998. From 2002-2006, Brian served as the Strength & Conditioning coach for the Columbus Crew Major League Soccer Team. Brian is an APTA board certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) and also certified in Functional Movement Taping (FMT) and the Functional Movement Screen (FMS). In 2014, he became credentialed to perform Dry Needling.
Brian has worked as the supervisor and Sports Physical Therapist for EXOS @ Raleigh Orthopaedic since 2010. He specializes in treating orthopaedic and sports medicine cases and has a special interest in rehabbing baseball injuries and ACL prevention/rehab. Brian has worked with athletes in NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, MLS, USTA, US Rugby as well as numerous Division 1 Collegiate athletes. He currently serves as a PT consultant for the Carolina Hurricanes. Brian is also a faculty member for Allied Health Education and presents continuing education webinars and live seminars for PT’s, ATC’s and fitness professionals.
Sports Physical Therapist
Suzanne Blakeney PT, DPT
Suzanne Blakeney graduated from James Madison University with a B.S. in Kinesiology/Exercise Science in 2008. She earned her doctorate in Physical Therapy at Shenandoah University in 2012, which included clinical work in the sports therapy departments of the Lewis Gale Medical Center in Roanoke, Virginia, and Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Suzanne has earned certifications in Functional Movement Screening (FMS), ImPACT concussion testing and rehabilitation, and Dry Needling.
Prior to joining Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic in 2013 Suzanne began specializing in Sports Medicine as well as Neuro-Vestibular rehabilitation. Her early work with Raleigh Ortho allowed her to focus on general outpatient orthopedics and sports rehab. Her work with EXOS @ Raleigh Orthopedic gives her the opportunity to use her sports rehabilitation and training expertise with a wide range of active individuals. She has special interests in running, swimming, soccer, and hip injuries and has treated clientele for both chronic and acute injuries related to everyday life and sports.

Ashley Bowyer PT, DPT, CSCS, PES
Ashley Bowyer graduated from the Ohio State University in 2010 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Health Sciences where she was also a member of varsity women’s soccer team. She became a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialists (CSCS) through the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) in 2011 and Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) in 2012. Ashley then earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California in 2013. She ahs also earned certifications in Functional Movement Screen and impact concussion testing and rehabilitation.
Prior to relocating to North Carolina and joining Raleigh Orthopaedic in 2017, Ashley specialized in sports and orthopaedic cases including treating numerous youth, amateur, collegiate and professional athletes. She has special interests in soccer, ACL prevention/rehabilitation, as well injuries related to everyday life and sports.
Scott Pucek, CSCS, USAW, MS, XPS, MEd
Scott has 23 years of experience and has personally trained a host of professional athletes from the NFL, MLB, NBA, Pro Golf, Pro Tennis, NHL and is the Performance Manager for EXOS @ Raleigh Orthopaedic overseeing the delivery of all performance programming, education and coaching systems.
He has acted as a speed and performance consultant to the NFL’s Miami Dolphins, North Carolina State University Football and Basketball programs, the Southern Methodist University (SMU) Women’s Soccer and the Texas Legends (of the NBA’s D-League) reflecting his extensive experience and knowledge base across multiple sports and levels. He brings a wealth of knowledge within Combine Prep, NFL Vet training, numerous high profile MLB and MiLB players as well as US Special Forces Tactical & Support personnel, rehabilitating Tactical personnel, the Venezuelan Men’s National Soccer Team (2011) and the Argentinian Women’s National Field Hockey Team (2011).
Scott earned a Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology with a concentration in Strength & Conditioning at the University of Virginia and holds certifications as a Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS – NSCA), EXOS Performance Specialist (XPS), USA Weight Lifting Club Coach (USAW), Fascial Stretch Technique (FST1) and Power Plate Level 1.
Sports Performance Specialists
Will Parker, CSCS, USAW
Will graduated from East Carolina University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise & Sport Science. He became a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) in 2007. From 2006-2008, Will was an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach at NC State University working with Football, Basketball, Baseball, Soccer, Track & Field along with several other teams. In 2012, he earned a United States of America Weightlifting (USAW) Level 1 certification.
Will has worked as a Performance Specialist for EXOS @ Raleigh Orthopaedic since 2006. He has worked with athletes from the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and MLS along with many from Division 1, 2 & 3 Universities. Will specializes in performance evaluation, speed training (acceleration, absolute speed, lateral movement, multi-directional & deceleration), functional strength training (foundation, endurance, hypertrophy, max strength, power, and body composition), injury risk assessment, soft tissue treatment, increasing soft tissue elasticity and goal management.
Will enjoys interacting with his clients, helping them achieve their speed, strength and/or weight loss goals and subsequently set higher goals to work toward.
Certified Athletic Trainers
Ashley Yartin MS, ATC, LAT
Ashley Yartin is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), member of the National Athletic Trainer Association and licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT) through the North Carolina Board of Athletic Trainer Examiners. Ashley graduated from Florida State University in 2007 with her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences with a degree in Sports Medicine/Athletic training. She spent the next 2 years as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Louisiana State University, earning her Masters of Science degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in sports management and administration. Ashley was an integral part of the Tiger’s 2008 BCS National Championship football program.
Ashley joined EXOS @ Raleigh Orthopaedic in 2015, after spending 6 years as an Associate Athletic Trainer for East Carolina University. While at ECU, Ashley worked primarily with the women’s basketball program for the day-to-day care, injury prevention, evaluation and rehabilitation.
Ryan McCrea MS, ATC, LAT
Ryan McCrea is a Certified and Licensed Athletic Trainer (ATC, LAT) and is in good standings with the Board of Certification and the North Carolina Board of Athletic Trainers Examiners. Ryan graduated from High Point University with his Bachelors in Athletic Training (2007) and Masters in Exercise and Sports Studies (2009). He worked as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Greensboro College before moving to Boca Raton, FL to work as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Lynn University. Ryan was promoted to Head Athletic Trainer three years later where he oversaw the medical needs of all 215 student-athletes. While at Lynn, Ryan played an integral part in the Men’s Soccer team winning two National Championships as well as the Men’s Golf team being National Runner-ups on three occasions. Ryan also worked with the Baseball and Men’s Lacrosse teams at Lynn University.
Ryan and his wife, Liz, recently moved to Raleigh where Ryan was born and raised. He joined Raleigh Orthopedic in 2017 and is excited to be back in his home town. Ryan and Liz enjoy cooking, the outdoors and spending time with their two dogs Brantley and Cocomo.
Mick has been teaching baseball for over 30 years. A graduate of the University of Arizona, he has instructed players from youth to professionals and helped over 75 students gain college scholarships. 9 of his players have gone on to play professionally. He is an experienced instructor for individuals, teams, camps and clinic. Mick has been an assistant coach and pitching coach for Leesville Road High School for 22 years and a recommending scouts with the Cincinnati Reds. His popular Velocity Throwing Program is conducted at Raleigh Orthopaedic Performance Center Location in North Raleigh. For pitching, hitting, catching field and throwing instruction, Mick can help you reach your goals.
